Nancy Bartosek
is a 1997 communications graduate of University of Texas at Arlington and mother of six. After a one-year stint at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, she joined the magazine as assistant editor in 1997, became the editor in 2001 and has written stories from Wyoming, Belize and Romania. Her passions include learning, traveling and gardening. She and husband Dennis live in Fort Worth.

Rick Waters is a 1995 news-editorial journalism graduate of TCU. After a writing and copy editing career at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Corpus Christi Caller-Times and Lubbock Avalanche-Journal (and a brief side venture at Fort Worth architecture firm Carter & Burgess), he joined the magazine in 2001 as assistant editor. His interests include TCU athletics and magazine collecting. He lives in Fort Worth with wife Cris '97 and son Ethan, 2.

Tracy Sterling Bristol is a 1980 advertising communications graduate of TCU, whose background includes advertising, teaching and graphic design. She joined the magazine in 2001 as Art Director and loves musical theater, horses and anything her kids are involved in. She lives with her husband David and children Kate, 16, and Jack, 13, in Colleyville.

Kathryn Hopper is a 1986 English and journalism graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, who also earned a master’s degree in liberal studies from Duke University. Her journalism career includes stints at The Raleigh News & Observer, Greensboro News & Record and Fort Worth Star-Telegram, where she covered sports business. She joined the magazine in 2008 and lives in Southlake with her husband, Stuart, and sons James, 15, Henry, 12, Will, 10, and Andrew, 5.

Cathy Frisinger has a master’s degree from the University of Michigan. She was an editor and writer for a number of newspapers, including The Muskegon Chronicle, Irving Daily News, Dallas Times Herald and Fort Worth Star-Telegram, where she worked for 14 years. She has freelanced for several magazines, including D Magazine, Texas Music and Parker County Today. She regularly reviews movies and books for the Star-Telegram. Her husband is an editor for the Star-Telegram, and she is proud to say that her daughter recently entered the “family business,” and works as an editor for LSU Press.
